Which Of These Names Doesn't Belong?
Those are the top five players in the National League in baseball-reference WAR after the games of Friday, June 15. Barney's the only one getting there through defense; his total includes 1.1 in offensive WAR, 2.1 in defensive WAR.
Barney leads all NL players in defensive runs, 17; Bourn is second with 11.
No, I wouldn't have guessed that, either.
That's pretty big news to me. I don't think I've even heard of the guy. LOL I have to go find out what team he's on now. :-P
