Yankee Catcher's/Outfielder's ...

The Golden Age Yankees sure loved to put catchers in the outfield. Yogi Berra, Elston Howard and Johnny Blanchard all did time patrolling the outer perimeter. Did it work? Big picture: yes. Day-to-day: not always, as evidenced by this wire photo which shows Blanchard butchering a ball hit by White Sox pitcher Eddie Fisher, handing him the only triple of his 15-year career .
