Had Chris Sale been taken off the pitch-count leash yesterday, he probably would have broken the White Sox single-game strikeout record. Seen in this wire photocelebrating that record-setting game on July 25, 1954, is its author, Jack Harshman -- along with batterymate Matt Batts. Side note: Harshman went to the same high school as Ted Williams, one of his strikeout victims on that record-setting day.
