PUJOLS POWER
An eruption of cheers took place in the Cardinals' clubhouse after the game. Already celebrating their victory, they were exultant when they saw, via television, former Cardinals star Albert Pujols hit his first home run for the Los Angeles Angels.
"I'm excited for him," said utilityman Skip Schumaker. "People who haven't played with him maybe were worried but not the people who have. It was going to happen. And it's probably going to happen 35 more times, so I don't think it's a huge shock to any of us in here."
Berkman said, "He might hit 10 in a row, now that he's got that monkey off his back. I pull for him and want him to do well. I feel for him when he's not doing well."
