You probably won't be at all surprised when I tell you that among MLB starting pitchers,Stephen Strasburg's thrown the fastest average fastball: 95.7 miles an hour.
You know who's right behind Stephen Strasburg, though? Kansas City's Danny Duffy: 95.3 miles an hour.
Yeah. Danny Duffy throws almost as hard as Stephen Strasburg, and harder than everybody else. Last year, Duffy averaged "only" 93.3 on his fastball. If this increase is real and sustainable, he could be really really good.
