Reaction To Colorado Pitching Scheme ...

Half This Game Is 90 Percent Mental

Reaction to Colorado's new pitching scheme:
Matt Welch: Why not just have an entire staff of two-inning relievers, and pinch-hit every time up? You could do it with 9 relievers going every other day and 1 extra-innings long man (preferably a knuckleballer!); split the staff between lefties and righties to maximize platoon advantage, and upgrade your 4 plate appearances in the 9-hole from like .132/.169/.167 to .239/.316/.380...
stanmvp48: Earnshaw Cook proposed something like this in Percentage Baseball about 50 years ago... I assume it would add about half a run per game.
I think we know what Danny Ozark would say to this kind of sorcery.
