Freak - onomics ..

Tim Lincecum has signed a two year, $40.5 million deal. The Freak is still only 28 years old and so this contract will position him for yet another great contract while still in his prime in two years; possibly in the neighborhood of $25 to $30 million per year.  The two time Cy Young Award winner is a great catch for the 2010 World Champion Giants, as they look to be competitive again in 2012; Lincecum probably would have cost them $20 million in arbitration anyway.

Next up for Tim Lincecum is another possible Cy Young w/a potential pennant chase. Next up for the Giants is pursuit of a contract w/Ace 1A - Matt Cain.
