In Santana’s first start this season, against the Braves, he generated 13 whiffs on 33 swings.
In Santana’s second start, Wednesday against the Nationals, he generated 14 whiffs on 37 swings.
That’s 61-percent contact, two games in. We won’t get ahead of ourselves, but the Mets must be encouraged.
